Screening in the context of Festival Peliculatina.

Francisca dreams of leaving Tocopilla, a small village nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Atacama Desert. She also yearns to help her brother Diego, whose autistic behaviour worries her. When Fernando, Diego’s new professor, offers to give her brother private lessons, she gladly accepts. Little does she know that the consequences of her decision will be irreversible.

Born in Santiago de Chile in 1973, Rodrigo Litorriaga grew up in France, Belgium and Chile. He studied economics in Louvain, political science in Barcelona, and literature in Paris, before enrolling in a filmmaking workshop and producing his first shorts, some of which were selected for international festivals. La Francisca, une jeunesse chilienne is his first feature film.
Litorriaga will speak after the screening. Film director César Diaz and other guest directors from Latin America will also be attending to talk about the project’s Belgian co-production. The event will be hosted by Ronnie Ramirez.
