Meet the Thinkers: Fatima Ouassak & Maya Mihindou

3 Mar.'26
- 19:30

When it comes to climate issues, the most vulnerable remain the most exposed, while their voices continue to be marginalised within political ecology. Starting from this observation, Fatima Ouassak and Maya Mihindou, together with Arturo Escobar, Malcom Ferdinand and others, launch the manifesto Terres et Liberté. The book pursues a shared ambition: to build an ecological front that is resolutely anti-racist, urgent, and widely supported.

Fatima Ouassak, a French-Moroccan writer and activist, brings together ecology and anti-racist struggles. Maya Mihindou, a French-Gabonese illustrator and journalist, explores identity, memory and the traces of colonialism in her work.

The conversation will be moderated by Sibo Rugwiza Kanobana, author and lecturer in sociolinguistics and post-colonial studies at the Open University of the Netherlands.
