Meet the Thinkers: Ingrid Robeyns & Anton Jäger

10 Dec.'25
- 19:30

In Belgium and beyond, one of the most commonly proposed solutions to protect the social welfare state is to “tax the rich.” But how much capital is too much? And what else can be done? Belgian philosophers Ingrid Robeyns and Anton Jäger come together to explore the ethics of extreme wealth concentration and to imagine alternative ways of organising our society.

Robeyns, known for her theory of limitarianism, argues for moral and political limits on individual wealth to preserve democratic equality. Jäger, a young political theorist and historian, examines how economic power reshapes democratic institutions and weakens collective agency.

Together, they offer a powerful and complementary dialogue: Robeyns brings normative ethics and feminist economics; Jäger, structural analysis and historical depth.

Join us as Bozar to envision a more just and democratic future with two of Belgium’s most incisive contemporary thinkers.

This program is a co-production between Bozar and Ecopolis festival.
