Claire-Louise Bennett has for several years been regarded as one of the most intriguing voices in contemporary Anglophone literature. With her critically acclaimed debut, Pond (2015), she established herself on the international stage: a singular, incisive work that immediately captivated readers and critics alike. Her subsequent writing has only confirmed her reputation as a novelist who explores the boundaries of the form and brings the everyday to life with a distinctive intensity.
Her most recent novel, Bye Bye Kiss Kiss, centres on the end of a love affair. It is a book suffused with longing, memory, and interior monologue, in which Bennett characteristically allows feelings, thoughts and observations to merge into a continuous flow.
During this evening at Bozar, Bennett will speak about her work, her writing practice and the themes that fascinate her. A rare opportunity to hear one of the most original voices in contemporary literature in person.
