EXPO

The Mies van der Rohe Awards aim to promote and understand the significance of quality, reflecting the complexity of architecture's own significance in terms of technological, constructional, social, economic, cultural and aesthetic achievements. The winner of this year’s Architecture Award is Town House at Kingston University (UK) by Grafton architects, Dublin. The building represents the completeness of architectural excellence and offers an emotional experience from within and through the multi-level façade colonnade, creating a domestic atmosphere on different levels. La Borda - Cooperative Housing is the winner of the Emerging Architecture Award. The project is built like a home-scale paradise, creating community and the materialization of the meaning of community.

In the exhibition you will also discover the other 5 finalists:
85 Social Housing Units, Cornellà de Llobregat, by peris+toral.arquitectes;
Frizz23, Berlin, by Deadline (Britta Jürgens + Matthew Griffin);
the Railway Farm, Paris, by Grand Huit and Melanie Drevet Paysagiste;
Z33 House for Contemporary Art, Design and Architecture, Hasselt, by Francesca Torzo;
Enrico Fermi School, Turin, by dpr bureau.
