‘MimiCof’

The Japanese, Berlin-based musician, composer and producer of music Midori Hirano took up the piano at the age of five and continued her classical training at university. She began releasing her work in 2004 under her own name and after relocating to Berlin in 2008, Hirano started other solo project: MimiCof. Under this moniker, she melds detailed rhythmic patterns with swirling melodic soundscapes, exploring the intersection between the natural and the artificial. Besides producing her own works, Hirano has composed music for films, video installations and dance performances.
