‘MiXMONK - CD Release’

Without a shadow of a doubt, Bram De Looze and Robin Verheyen are among the most significant figures on the contemporary Belgian jazz scene. Both are visionary composers and leaders, who have each proved themselves in Belgium and abroad. Both also share a passion for the music of Thelonious Monk, whose repertoire they played as a duo for many years. A few years ago, Bozar asked them to join forces with Joey Baron, the legendary drummer who made his name as a sideman for John Zorn (Massada, Naked City), Bill Frisell and Marc Copland. Together, Bram De Looze, Robin Verheyen and Joey Baron tuck into the wonderful music of the eternal Thelonious Monk.
