As part of our Close-up dedicated to Jessica Sarah Rinland, Argentinian-British artist and filmmaker, Bozar presentsMonólogo Colectivo. Through her non-fiction, impressionistic and tactile cinema, Rinland explores human relationships with animals, plants and the world around us.
The film lets us glimpse intimate moments in zoos and animal rescue centres in Argentina. As the history of these institutions unfolds, dedicated workers care for the remaining animals, forging bonds that blur the boundaries between human and animal.
In 2017, Jessica Sarah Rinland won the Schnitzer Prize for excellence in the arts from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She has also received numerous other awards, including Special Mentions at Locarno and San Sebastián. Her latest full-length feature film won the Best International Film award at Cinéma du Réel.
