Oussama Tabti – Louisa Babari – Mourad Krinah
In the first decade of its independence (1962), Algeria, liberated from French occupation, was the focus of many postcolonial Utopian dreams. The contemporary view taken by these three performers is permeated with this emotionally-charged history.
Oussama Tabti lives and works between Brussels, Algiers and Marseille. His work casts a critical eye on a hermetic geopolitics made up of unbridgeable boundaries and cultures that isolate themselves.
Louisa Babari was born in Moscow and works between Paris and Algiers. Through discursive works, personal archives and decentralisation processes, she poses questions about text, language, translation and architecture.
Mourad Krinah is an artist, graphic designer and curator from Algiers. He processes, decontextualizes and reformulates images from the mass media.
