During the annual Musikaa festival day, numerous Molenbeek partners display their home-grown talents. Foyer brings together young and old around music, Fatoum explores the rural Izran tradition with men and women from the neighbourhood, Laïla Amezian and the choir Les Fatmas de Belgica combine Arabic-Andalusian music with a classical string quartet, and De Vaartkapoen performs a blend of word, image and music. New this year is the children’s choir Singing Molenbeek, under the wings of Julien Libeer and Zeno Popescu. Q-O2 and Bozar present an improv session with musicians from Molenbeek accompanied by bassist Farida Amadou.
