Far from home and cut off from family and friends, Montreal’s indigenous homeless population is the focus of No Address. Dreams of a better life in the big city can be met with harsh realities, as the individuals in this documentary recount. Often trying to flee circumstances created by colonialism and assimilation, the First Nations and Inuit people in this documentary share frank stories about their lives and the paths that took them to the streets of Montreal.

Alanis Obomsawin (1932) is one of the world's most acclaimed indigenous filmmakers. Over five decades, she created a model of indigenous cinema that inspired many artists and academics. Her credo: let indigenous people tell their own story. She places great importance on youth and education: ‘My main interest all my life has been education because that’s where you develop yourself, where you learn to hate, or to love’.

The film will be preceded by Alanis Obomsawin’s short movie Christmas at Moose Factory.
