‘NOMAD: BRUiTAL’

5 Nov.'23

Brace yourself for BRUiTAL, a cheeky mob of musicians and noisemakers. They swarm the corridors wearing strange masks and fill the space with solid beats and raw noise. They bear tall totems on their backs, spewing their music into space. A mad revolution does seems an easy reality when BRUiTAL enters the space. Are you ready for a chunk of pure punk energy to enliven the BIG BANG Festival? Because BRUiTAL is coming straight at you.

For BIG BANG, BRUiTAL has captured lightning in the form of young performers from Antwerp and Brussels. The Borgerhout drummers from Tarmacadam will provide some heavy fireworks together with Brussels students from Ibo de Buiteling and Primary School Nieuwland, led by Seppe Bayens and Ilaria Orlandini.

This is a NOMAD project

NOMAD is committed to the cultural richness of the contemporary city. Professional, often international musicians will join forces with a group of local children. The musical talents and cultural influences of the children blend with those of the musicians. The BIG BANG Festival ultimately provides a stage to showcase the result of the collaboration. In the past, Zonzo Compagnie has thus created wonderful NOMAD projects with such luminaries as Meredith Monk, Iva Bittová, Phil Minton, Paul Griffiths, and Dick van der Harst.
