Mozart. Clarinet Concerto & Mass in c

This concert programme by the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées radiates grandeur. What else would you expect on the day that Philippe Herreweghe celebrates his 80th birthday! His guests include world-class stars such as the soprano Regula Mühlemann, mezzo soprano Eva Zaïcik, tenor Werner Güra and bass Thomas Bauer. The guest list is a long one, because this regal foursome will take to the stage for W.A. Mozart’s Mass in C minor for orchestra and double chorus. The Australian Belgian Nicola Boud will be bringing along her 18th century Viennese clarinet for Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major, his last completed composition. Absolute calm and modest virtuosity fill this concert evening entirely tailored to the consummate Ghent musician. Hurray for Herreweghe!
