Ravel - Boesmans piano concerto première

Six months before starting his new job as music director of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège (OPRL), the Hungarian conductor Gergely Madaras explores the orchestra’s core repertoire of Franco-Belgian music and new compositions. Daphnis et Chloé is a masterpiece of impressionist music and a ballet teeming with raw sensuality, in which Ravel shares his idealistic view of ancient Greece. But the evening kicks off with the world premiere of Belgian composer Philippe Boesmans’ ballade pour piano et orchestra, commissioned by the OPRL. The French pianist David Kadouch, one of the most acclaimed French pianists of his generation, is the guest artist for this exceptional concert.
