Organ Night

27 May'25
- 18:00

Eight organists fill the cathedral during Organ Night with thrilling interpretations that make the stained-glass windows vibrate. In this non-stop programme, Johann Sebastian Bach is the musical cornerstone. His music meets that which precedes it, such as the medieval Codex Faenza performed by Guillermo Pérez, and more recent works inspired by it, including Pierre Slinckx's electronic experiments. Short 30-minute sets alternate, exploring a range of organs: from the large Grenzing organ, through the choir organ and the small organetto. In the middle of the night, 42 speakers introduce the installation of Philip Venables, who has rewritten Bach's preludes. Bernard Foccroulle is in charge of the live performance. Outside, Reset Atelier provides a bar. Inside, only Bach can quench the thirst.
