‘PALESTINE WITH LOVE’

1 → 7
June'19

With PALESTINE WITH LOVE, the Centre for Fine Arts and CINEMA GALERIES, in collaboration with The Marmoud Darwich Chair, are once again giving centre stage to Palestinian cinema. This year the festival concentrates on the theme of identity built through exile and migration; it questions the notion of representation, central to the relationship exiles have with the memory, or to the imagination of subsequent generations.

What identity can we truly embody in such difficult, paradoxical conditions, in which history and memory are so often intermingled? Having faced exile, the pain of migration and the difficulties of putting down roots elsewhere, how have Palestinians managed to conserve their identity, and how has it been affected by what they have gone through? All these questions are raised in the films and documentaries that will be screened during the PALESTINE WITH LOVE festival.
