‘Peter and the Wolf’

4 Feb.'24

La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra & Altinoglu

For children aged 8 and over

Young Peter doesn’t like listening to his grumpy old grandpa. When, going against his grandfather’s wishes, he nevertheless pushes the gate and leaves the garden, a great adventure begins for him. He talks to all kinds of animals, including a bird, a duck and a cat. But when he comes face to face with a wolf, maybe his grandfather will be proven right after all: Isn’t it far too dangerous out here? With melodies as accessible as they are irresistible, Sergey Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf is to this day one of the most beloved compositions for children. As each character is voiced by a different instrument, it is also the ideal introduction to the symphony orchestra! Alain Altinoglu and the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra continue their annual tradition of family concerts with this classic.
