A mother and daughter are on their way to Stockholm to celebrate the daughter's fourteenth birthday. On the train, the mother starts acting weird and the daughter fears another psychotic episode. Despite the symptoms, they try to continue the vacation as planned. When the mother's condition gets worse, the daughter is left on her own to explore Stockholm during a few magical solo days and nights.
Born 1980 in Gothenburg in Sweden, Maria Bäch is a film director and scriptwriter. She graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2013 and won the Nordic Talents with her graduation film, the documentary short Mother is God. Her first documentary feature I Remember When I Die (2015) was selected for CPH:DOX and received an Honorary Mention at the Göteborg Film Festival. Psychosis in Stockholm marks Bäck's debut as feature fiction director.
