Online event

If you joined us last season, you still remember the majestic performance of Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 15. At the end of the Beethoven Year, the fantastic Quatuor Ebène returns to Brussels to play nothing but the work of the German grandmaster. Be sure not to miss this performance as it’s the last chance to see them before they take a break for a year. The quartets from opus 18 are Beethoven’s first ventures into the genre, and still exude a classical atmosphere with nods to Haydn and Mozart. Compared to these earlier works, his String Quartet No. 12 - the first of his ‘late quartets’ - sounds much more radical. Beethoven was so innovative that it appears remarkably modern even today.
