For over fifty years, the Argentinean Quinteto Real orchestra has been taking tango music to the highest level. BOZAR has invited this fantastic example of living music history to Brussels.
Horacio Salgán is a mythical figure in the world of tango music. He was born in the city that made tango famous, Buenos Aires, and founded the Quinteto Real with that other legendary musician, Ubaldo de Lío. Since then many legendary musicians have been members of the group, performing both original compositions and standards. Nowadays Cesar Salgán supplements his father’s fantastic repertoire with his own compositions, creating an unrivaled rhythmic and harmonic language.
