‘Rachmaninov All-Night Vigil - Latvian Radio Choir’

4 Feb.'23
- 20:00

When Rachmaninov finds himself on a Bozar poster, you can expect to hear the breakneck piano chops from one of his piano concertos. Through his Vespers, one of the most impressive a cappella choral works of the 20th century, you will discover the Russian composer's more contemplative side. Drawing inspiration from old Russian Orthodox melodies, Rachmaninov assembles a colourful kaleidoscope in which the low male voices particularly appeal to the ear. The Latvian Radio Choir, one of Europe's best choirs, will be supplementing this with works by Ēriks Ešenvalds and Pēteris Vasks. With their exceptionally pure, warm and harmonious sound, they will transform our large hall into a place of peace and serenity.
