‘REIMAGINING WORLDS’

5 Oct.'19
- 11:00

CREATIVE storytelling WORKSHOP

The Reimagining Worlds project is a series of creative and practical workshops that allow youngsters to experiment with visual storytelling through VR/AR technology. We want to teach young people how to model their own digital 3D environment using basic coding skills. This digital toolbox will enable them to create digital realms from scratch and imagine anything beyond the limitations of their own realities.

The first creative workshop will be led by artist Jacob Joyce. The day will start with a tour of the incarNations exhibition at BOZAR followed by a drawing workshop at Muntpunt. During the drawing workshop, kids will be asked to reflect and question the reasoning behind borders and boundaries, with the objective of creating new stories, norms and re-imagine the landscape of Europe's future.

Jacob V Joyce is a non-binary artist amplifying historical and nourishing new queer and anti-colonial narratives. His work encompasses workshops on afro-futurist world-building, mural painting, performance art and queer punk music. He is renowned primarily for his illustrations, although he has also published a number of books and developed international human rights campaigns for Amnesty International.

REIMAGINING Worlds is a programme initiated and curated by Recognition in collaboration with Muntpunt.
