Shahram Nazeri was born in Iranian Kurdistan in 1950. He has been nicknamed ‘the Persian nightingale’ for his emblematic performances of traditional Iranian music. He was one of the first singers to switch effortlessly between classical Persian or Kurdish music and Rumi’s mystical texts. His exceptionally expressive tenor voice and technical perfection enable him to cross the borders of musical genres without getting lost. Over the last 65 years, his audience has grown in dedication, closely following the internationally acclaimed Nazeri. If you are not yet among them, you can hear the living legend at work in Bozar. A perfect choice for fans of musicians such as Homayoun Shajarian, who played to a rapt audience here in 2024.
