‘Shama BONGO presents “Mosi”’

1 Dec.'19
- 13:30

Live Music Showcase

For the last 20 years, Shama ° BONGO has been performing on the Belgian and international stage. An incomparable personality with a warm and powerful voice and a transcending generosity, she leads us through polyphonies, soul and pop, all in different African languages. From 4pm to 5.30pm, accompanied by her musicians, Shama Bongo presents her EP Mosi, her solo project that expresses everything she is, everything she lives and all that she observes, with one foot in Europe and the other on in Africa. Mosi is a kind of return journey, taking her back to the day she left her native Congo Brazzaville as a child. She shares with us all the beauty and rich textures she has collected along her way, through her encounters and sound experiences.

Between 1.30pm and 3.30pm come and have a family photo taken by Annabelle van Nieuwenhuyse, TV presenter and photographer who, on the occasion of the concert, will host a professional photo area. As a souvenir of this beautiful day, you will get a free copy of the photo!

Between 1.30pm and 4pm, you can also take part in the ‘Atelier du Lien’ led by Pascal Goeseels, a trained shiatsu practitioner who will welcome parent-child pairs (aged 5 to 12) to show them how to share massages and interpersonal games.

MANDJi is a Belgian association that, for ten years, has accompanied and supported musicians in Africa through different activities (masterclasses, workshops, etc.). It also organises cultural events in Belgium to enable the public and professionals from the cultural sector (journalists, managers, labels, etc.) to discover new musical projects and new talent in relation to Africa.

A production of MANDJi in collaboration with BOZAR.
Within the framework of the FORUM Programme, a collaboration between the AfricaMuseum and BOZAR, financed by the Belgian Development Cooperation.
