Bozar and the SoundImageCulture (SIC) film laboratory are teaming up once again for a special evening devised by artist and filmmaker Stéphanie Roland. She has carte blanche in screening films from Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains.
This selection brings together short films by young artists who explore the links between art and science, pushing back the boundaries between cinema, visual arts and experimentation. The directors will be present at the screening.
Programme:
Le cercle vide – Stéphanie Roland (19 min, 2021)
A submerged world, without light, where time seems suspended.
All movements should kill the wind – Yuyan Wang (12 min, 2019)
Stonework, repeated gestures and the memory of bodies and the wind.
Pneuma – Fanny Beguely (29 min, 2020)
A sensory tale of humans and plants, ancient legends and future upheavals.
Bleu Silico – Julia Borderie & Éloïse Le Gallo (16 min, 2022)
Science is looking to repair sight with algal DNA. A hybrid vision of nature and technology.
Nous le savions qu’elles étaient belles les îles – Younes Ben Slimane (20 min, 2021)
In the night, a stranger watches over the dead and reveals objects steeped in memory.
