In a German botanical garden of a university, a majestic ginkgo tree stands as a silent witness to three lives across a century. From a neuroscientist in 2020 studying infant minds who begins an experiment with the ancient tree., all the way back to the first female student of the university in 1908 who discovers through photographs the cosmic patterns in plants. We follow their attempts to connect, as they are transformed by the mysterious power of nature.
Ildikó Enyedi (1955, Budapest) studied economics and attended the theatre and film academy in Budapest. In 1989, she made her first feature, My 20th Century (Az én XX századom), which won the Camera d’Or for best debut at the Cannes film festival. Her most well-known film, On Body and Soul (2017), won the top prize at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival.
