Back on Bozar’s sofa for a new edition of our Sofa Sessions! An intimate moment of exchange between artists and audience, in an intergenerational dialogue about beauty and ugliness echoing the Bellezza e Bruttezza and Picture Perfect exhibitions.
Before the session, take the opportunity to visit the Bellezza e Bruttezza exhibition with privileged access, accompanied by a poetic performance by Jamal Ouazzani.
Join Jamal Ouazzani and Yasmina Reggad for an engaging conversation on representation from the Renaissance to today. The works in Bellezza e Bruttezza raise a central question: how can we represent ourselves now, fully aware of a centuries-old visual and cultural heritage? Ouazzani, a writer, and Reggad, a performing artist, revisit art history through the figures of the “great masters,” deconstructing norms, questioning the presence and absence of certain bodies, and exploring self-representation beyond imposed frameworks.
