- 20:30

On Monday 6 February 2023, Turkey and Syria were hit by multiple powerful earthquakes and aftershocks that caused massive damage. Today, thousands of people are in urgent need of assistance. In response to these terrible events, Bozar and Klarafestival are organising a benefit concert for the victims of these earthquakes. The Turkish pianist and composer Fazıl Say will perform a recital with mezzosoprano Serenad Bağcan in the main hall of Bozar. All proceeds from the sale of the tickets will be donated to the Consortium 12-12 organisation. In addition to the purchase of your ticket, you can also make a donation directly to the Consortium 12-12 account.

Pianist and composer Fazıl Say was born in 1970 in Ankara, Turkey. He studied piano with Mithat Fenmen and then perfected his skills with David Levine in Düsseldorf and Berlin. In 1994, he won the international Young Concert Artists Auditions in New York. He works with the greatest American and European orchestras conducted by renowned conductors. He also plays chamber music, together with Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Sol Gabetta and the Borusan Quartet, and composes music in a variety of genres.
