An evening filled with traditional music from Slovakia
Slovak folk traditions still have much to teach us, promises Sounds Like Slovakia. Trenčín is the European Capital of Culture in 2026 and shares a captivating programme with us. Karol Kočík & Ondrej Selecky introduce the traditional fujara flute and bring you to a state of contemplation with deep, resonant sounds. The Spectrum Quartet, together with the folk band GoyaBand and the women's group Ulijanky, bridges the gap between classical and folk music. For ethno-jazz fans, the Pacora Trio is coming to Brussels; they too cannot hide their Slovak identity and improvise on folk melodies. Finally, Julia Kozakova breathes new life into traditional Roma songs from Slovakia and Central Europe, accompanied by a top ensemble from Bratislava. Want to fuel your curiosity? Then attend the introductory lecture by ethnomusicologist Jana Ambrozova.
One ticket gives you access to the concerts in our three halls. In collaboration with the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026.
