Born in 1976 in Paris, Coralie Fargeat is a French director and screenwriter. She first studied at Sciences Po Paris, then spent a year at the École nationale supérieure des métiers de l'image et du son to train in the art of filmmaking. In 2003, Coralie Fargeat released her first short film, entitled Le Télégramme. The director then turned her hand to the series format with Les Fées cloches, a comedy mini-series for children broadcast on TF1. She released her first feature film, Revenge, in 2017. In 2024, the director presented The Substance, in the official competition for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Coralie Fargeat was the only woman nominated in the ‘Best Director’ category at the Oscars in 2025.
