‘Sufi Morning’

With the last note of Sufi Night still echoing through the corridors of the Palace of Fine Arts, Makam Trio conjures up new sounds. Makam Trio began as a duo, arising from the musical encounter between Mevlüt Akgüngör (ney and tanbur) and Robert Micin (oud). Along with Hilde Declercq (percussion and voice), they will play pieces from the vast repertoire of Turkish classical music and mystic Sufi music such as taksims, pshreves, ilahis and sazemais in various makams for Sufi Morning. Three instrumental specialists with a passion guided by devotion.
