In a country shaken by war, keeping schools open becomes an act of defiance—and of love. Timestamp offers a glimpse into the fragile yet fiercely determined lives of Ukrainian students and teachers fighting to hold on to normalcy. Without interviews or commentary, the film immerses us directly in their world: lessons interrupted by sirens, hurried descents into shelters, and quiet moments where hope refuses to fade.
Across classrooms both physical and virtual, we witness a community refusing to let fear shape its children’s future. Over the course of a year, Timestamp captures the extraordinary courage of educators who teach through uncertainty and of young people who continue to dream despite everything around them trembling.
Directed by Kateryna Gornostai (Stop-Zemlia), Timestamp is a powerful testament to resilience—an intimate, moving portrait of humanity’s determination to create light, even when surrounded by darkness.
