‘The Trial - Ulises de la Orden’

6 Oct.'23
- 19:00

In April 1985 the most important trial in Argentina’s history commenced. Nine high-ranking representatives of the military dictatorship (1976 to 1983) were put on trial, on charges including unlawful detention, torture and murder. More than 500 hours of video recordings covering the proceedings of the Trial of the Juntas were saved and stored outside the country. Ulises de la Orden and his editor Alberto Ponce managed to condense this enormous amount of material into a gripping film. They went beyond a series of facts and created a genuine narrative that makes no compromise to exhaustivity nor salient details.

Ulises de la Orden started his career in film in 1991, as an occasional actor in short films. Since 1998, with his production company, Polo Sur Cine, he has been doing his own projects. His most recent works are Marea y viento (2020), Vilca, la magia del silencio (2021) and El juicio (2023).

An event organized by Le P'tit Ciné, in collaboration with Bozar.
