‘A tribute to Doudou N'Diaye Rose’

BOZAR is celebrating the memory of Doudou N’Diaye Rose, the Senegalese percussionist who passed away on 19 August 2015. Rose was a sabar virtuoso – a tradition that he revolutionised thanks to his amazing creativity. UNESCO named him a “Living Human Treasure” for his contribution to
the promotion of Senegalese culture. During his career he collaborated with Maurice Béjart, Miles Davis, Peter Gabriel and the Rolling Stones, to name but a few.
Baaba Maal, Didier Awadi, Xalam, Carlou D, Sorale Boys, Deggi Daaj International, the N’Diaye Rose family, Pape Diouf, Bakane Seck and Kine Lam are paying a powerful tribute to him with this exceptional concert.
