Immersive journeys about memory, ritual, and transformation
Join us for the May edition of VR Film Screening, Bozar’s monthly event dedicated to immersive storytelling. This edition, Dance as Immersive Ritual, brings together VR works where movement becomes a ritual of memory, transformation, and connection.
Paar is a VR dance directed by Carly Lave, that shifts between physical and virtual realms. Filmed in Berlin’s historic Tieranatomisches Theater, Paar follows two ghostly figures discovering their bodies and surroundings through motion-captured movement. The audience stands at the centre of the piece, brought into a journey where choreography shows the space between virtual and physical worlds.
Celestial Motion is a 360° film inspired by Alexander Whitley’s stage production 8 Minutes. In this VR experience, through choreography, human movement becomes a constellation, expanding and collapsing in astronomical scales. This work uses dance as a force to open new dimensions of perception while inviting you to travel between gravity, light, and movement.
A VR adaptation of an intermedia performance, Everywhen, by threeiscompany, explores historical recurrence through movement, 3D visuals, and spatial sound. It contrasts intimate personal worlds with darker collective realities, asking how our closest influences shape our perception of the world.
VR Film Screening at Bozar is designed to be welcoming and accessible. Attentive guides will be on hand to ensure you have a seamless experience.
