An interactive workshop by the European Youth Parliament Belgium and the Understanding Europe project that encourages a reflection on the EU
The workshop presents the European Union in an interactive and educational manner by prioritising exchange and discussion. The people running the workshop want to introduce basic knowledge in order to encourage the participants to reflect and discuss more specific questions.
PROGRAMME
12:00 - 12:45: Informal lunch and discussion with volunteers from EYP Belgium (the association’s stand)
12:45 - 13:00: Welcome, presentation of the activity, introductory game
13:00 - 13:30: Introductory quiz about the European Union in which questions are projected along with four possible answers and participants have to move around the room depending on their preferred answer, before being asked to justify their choice (example: “What do I think about when I hear the word “Europe”).
13:30 - 14:30: Three or four simultaneous workshops, each participant can choose one. (Subjects on offer: history of European integration – the role of the institutions – active citizenship – European migration policy)

Five to six participants spend 15 minutes in discussion with an "expert" (EYP Belgium alumni or external guest), and then change discussion table to get stuck into the next subject (speed-dating format)..
