Mozart & Strauss

Following their successful appearance in 2024, the brothers Arthur and Lukas Jussen are returning to Henry Le Bœuf Hall. This time, they will share the stage with none other than the Wiener Symphoniker led by Petr Popelka. The programme is Viennese too: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote his double concerto for two pianos for his elder sister Maria Anna. In a child’s game of questions and answers, the two pianos share out the melodies fairly: there is no hint of sibling rivalry. Hiking in the mountains with friends might seem to be a recent trend, but Richard Strauss was lacing up his hiking boots back in 1879. He didn’t return with a phone full of photos, but he did write the symphonic poem Eine Alpensinfonie to remind him of the steep climbs, breathtaking views and a nasty storm.
