Chimes of Freedom

Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour and Beninese icon Angélique Kidjo take the stage together for an evening dedicated to hope, solidarity, and the unstoppable cultural energy of Africa. Youssou N’Dour, the king of mbalax, brings his "Senegal Rek" (Senegal, period!) vision to Brussels. With a career spanning 45 years and a lifelong commitment to humanitarian causes, he remains a torchbearer for a positive, modern Africa. From his landmark album Immigrés to the anthem New Africa, N’Dour seamlessly blends traditional Wolof rhythms with a global message of peace and justice. Joining him is Angélique Kidjo, the five-time Grammy winner whose recent album HOPE!! continues to break boundaries. Known for her infectious joy and powerful vocal presence, Kidjo is a symbol of resilience. Whether collaborating with the world’s biggest stars or advocating for girls' education through her Batonga Foundation, her music remains a beacon of compassion in a changing world. This evening brings together two leading figures of African culture who consistently use music as a tool for social change.
