Most string quartets are permanent ensembles, but there are some that bring together musicians whose careers are primarily as soloists: the Tetzlaff, for example, or the Arcanto. And also the Zehetmair Quartett, founded in 1994 by the celebrated Austrian violinist Thomas Zehetmair. Right from the start, the quartet's skill, musicality, and cohesion made it a great international success. Every year, it thoroughly prepares a new repertoire and takes it on tour.
