Every year, ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation) selects a number of young musicians to embark on a tour of its member concert halls. The musicians from this ‘Rising Stars’ programme all make a stop in Brussels for a concert in the main hall of the Centre for Fine Arts.
A condition for taking part in the tour is that, in addition to their scheduled performance, the Rising Stars must also take part in another community project in each city. In Brussels, the partners Bozar, Orfeo and Fedasil have been organising concerts with the Rising Stars at the Klein Kasteeltje for several years now. The people staying at the Klein Kasteeltje have arrived in Belgium very recently and come from all corners of the world, with diverse cultural backgrounds and of all ages. In one of the communal areas, the musicians give an intimate, acoustic concert, followed by an opportunity to get to know one another better and chat afterwards. The residents of the Klein Kasteeltje are also invited to attend the concert at Bozar.
