Each year, ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation) selects a number of young musicians to take part in a tour of its member concert halls. As part of the ‘Rising Stars’ programme, all selected musicians also perform in Brussels, giving a concert in the main hall of the Centre for Fine Arts. A key condition of participating in the tour is that, in each city, the Rising Stars contribute to an outreach or community project in addition to their main performance. In Brussels, Bozar, Orfeo, and Fedasil have, for several years now, jointly organised concerts with the Rising Stars at Petit-Château. The residents of Petit-Château are people who have only recently arrived in Belgium, coming from all over the world, from many different cultures and age groups. In one of the shared spaces, the musicians give an intimate, acoustic concert, followed by a moment for conversation and connection. Residents of Petit-Château are also invited to attend the Rising Stars concert at Bozar.
