Watch cinema history with brand new ears

Discover two seminal documents from Belgian film history with a newly composed score by silent film expert Stéphane Orlando in this exciting live performance.

Poetic impressions of a seaside town from a century ago, and a brutal portrayal of poverty in the mining industry – composer Stéphane Orlando and Musiques Nouvelles provide a thrilling new soundtrack for two masterpieces by documentary film pioneer Henri Storck: Images d’Ostende (1929) and Misère au Borinage (1933). A fitting fusion of old and new, images and sounds, as one of the events for the centenary of the Centre for Fine Arts, conceived a century ago to bring music, cinema and the visual arts together under one roof.
