All The Beauty And The Bloodshed follows the life, career and activism of the photographer Nan Goldin through unique footage, interviews and her own photography. Goldin escaped her traumatic childhood and found her own scene in which freedom and sexual independence played a central part. The film is a personal and multi-faceted portrait of one of the most important photographers of the late 20th century, and was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Laura Poitras’ global breakthrough came in 2014 with the Oscar-winning Citizenfour (2014) which told the story of the whistleblower Edward Snowden. She does not focus solely on American politics in her work but also investigates such themes as inequality, technology and oppression.

The film will be in theaters April 19 2023.
