‘Architecture and heritage in a city in transformation’

14 Mar.'17
- 18:30

With Inge Bertels and Stephanie Van de Voorde

Urban transformation, and the controversy that can surround it, is not a new phenomenon but very much a part of any city's development.

Transformations are found at all levels and take many forms, also in the field of heritage. In this lecture you will discover how heritage is subject to change over the years. Heritage is often regarded as something static, but the definition, position and debate that surround it evolve markedly over time. Inge Bertels and Stephanie Van de Voorde will be looking specifically at these new avenues in the history of architecture and the related technology. How relevant are these innovations to the debate on architectural heritage in a changing city?
