Meet the writers
Two writers who visited Israel and the Palestinian territories share their experiences in an exceptional conversation, moderated by Mark Schaevers.
The Netherlands' most famous writer Arnon Grunberg went to Palestine and Israel in search of his Jewish roots and wrote an exceptional contribution to Kingdom of Olives and Ash: Writers Confront the Occupation. The book, to which Dave Eggers and Mario Vargas Llosa also contributed, will be published later this year in 10 languages. BOZAR is pleased to be able to already present the English edition.
Nir Baram is a major talent in Israeli literature. In his A Land Without Borders he writes of a year spent travelling along the border between Israel and Palestine. Without passing judgement, he presents the opinions and the sentiments he found in the region. His report shows the reality of everyday life in a conflict area and reflects the complex political situation at a time of tensions, war and elections.
This conversation is part of IHTILAL | KIBBOUSH 50 years of occupation: where does it end? An initiative of BOZAR, Broederlijk Delen and 11.11.11: a day to mark 50 years since the Six-Day War and the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. The conversation will be preceded by a political debate with human rights activists and politicians.
