‘Avant-Première : CHANCE - Effi & Amir’

22 Sept.'20
- 20:45

In the presence of the directors

Four young Sudanese sneak into the back of a truck at a highway rest stop. They are determined and ready to do whatever it takes to reach England. One more night among many; another attempt; another “chance”, as they call it. Four young men spend the night in an enclosed, moving rectangle: they take stock of their daily lives while inside a black box.

Visual arts duo Effi Weiss (born in Israel, 1971) and Amir Borenstein (born in Israel, 1969), have been working together since 1999. Exhibited in museums, contemporary art centres and festivals, their work combines different art forms, such as video, installations and participatory projects. In addition to their common work, they collaborate with other artists as editors, photographers and visual effect experts. Finally, they conduct workshops all over the world for culturally diverse audiences. The docu-fiction Chance is their third feature-length documentary.
