Rhythmic, almost uninterrupted, obsessive, Bach’s instrumental music shares many features with the music of our time, and in particular with that of the minimalist composers of the 20th century. La Tempête reveals the incredible affinity between seemingly distant styles and eras, to the point where you forget where they are coming from. In collaboration with digital artist Jemma Woolmore, the ensemble explores the idea of a visual translation of these minimalist dialogues, through a mesmerising video mapping: an experience described by Classicagenda as “a sound and visual portrait (...), a total immersion for the spectator”.
