Our fellow countryman Yossif Ivanov, a favourite with the public since the Queen Elisabeth Competition, solos in Stravinsky’s only concerto for the smallest of the string instruments. After the break comes a performance of Debussy’s Images, in which the magnificent timbre and masterly orchestration are given a wonderful expression.
