With his warm tones and inimitable improvisations, the Canadian Ben Wendel has revealed himself as one of the most influential jazz saxophonists. Somewhat in the shadow of the group Kneebody’s success, he has carved out his own career: from a popular sideman to Prince and Snoop Dogg to an established name in contemporary jazz. For his latest project, BaRcoDe, Ben Wendel has brought four of the best vibraphone players on board. With the vibraphones, marimba, percussion, glockenspiel and more, the quintet seek (and find) the connection between chamber music, minimal music and jazz. Wendel had no choice but to present his previous project at Bozar online. Now it is time for his long-awaited live return.
