The Centre for the Less Good Idea
As part of the programming for the first Grand Invité series, Bozar is pleased to welcome The Centre for the Less Good Idea, a platform co-founded by Bronwyn Lace and William Kentridge, that encourages and supports experimentation and the emergence of new artistic forms through collaborative and interdisciplinary practices.
Inside the grand marble building that the palace is, The Centre aims to bring a fluid, soft, living, breathing, singing entity that can enter it and leave a trace. Echoing its performances on Saturday 28th, in which The Centre introduces a musical cadenza and catastrophe into a philosophical discourse, the Bozar all over the P(a)lace evening extends this spirit through encounters across rooms, showing that form—when based on deep listening—is enough in itself as a demonstration of what art making is to this collective of artists from Johannesburg. Joined by Brussels-based musicians and vocalists, the evening engages with a humorous way of letting logic, marble and monumentality make fun of itself.
The William Kentridge exhibition, I am not me, the horse is not mine, remains open during the whole evening until midnight.
