Metaphysical a/v
by sound artist Shapednoise (IT) & visual artist sYn (BE)
Where is the line between noise and music? What makes something beautiful or natural? Such are the questions raised by Metaphysical, the audio-visual show by sound artist, Shapednoise, and visual artist, sYn. The synergy between these two complementary forces allows them to explore the textural complexities of the sonic and physical world around us.
While Shapednoise’s signature noise draws inspiration from the world of cinema, sYn’s video creations predominantly feature macro footage. In Metaphysical, Shapednoise creates enormous slabs of sounds that rise from nothing and then break and crash with distortion. sYn’s work fits into this cosmos of sound, bringing with it visual textures that range from MRI scans to close-ups of the insect kingdom.
